Our Origin Story

I served in various roles in education for 15+ years. This made me aware of reform efforts that fell short of  meaningful impact which disproportionately impedes the progress of those from underestmated communities. Additionally, I ran a corporate wellness agency for the last six years and recognized the opportunity for collaboration between educational institutions and industry partners as a means to strengthen the relevance of curricula and enhance employability.

A specific client collaboration with Teach For America gave me the opportunity to counter educator burnout. Recognizing the social-emotional demands that plague our country’s classrooms, I engineered a series of partnerships and facilitated community wellness offerings to curate a suite of on-demand wellness resources and experiences that resonated with equity-minded educators, administrators, learners, families, and advocates, spurring a 20% surge in leads. Notably, this endeavor earned a monumental $1 million grant from the Oprah Winfrey Charitable Foundation, catapulting Teach For America's social-emotional learning program.

A year after returning to in-person instruction following the pandemic, I decided to take an unpaid sabbatical which led to the birth of ZENtertainment™ Enterprises. Combining my work from both worlds meant I could use innovative solutions to address issues in education while enhancing a brand's reputation, connecting them with target audiences, and attracting socially conscious customers and employees.
